Our projects and plans for 2026

Hi everyone,

As we step into 2026, we’re excited to share a little about what’s ahead for Women of Newport.

First and foremost, we are here to continue building friendships, networks and meaningful partnerships with our community — individuals, organisations and businesses who share our values. Connection remains at the heart of everything we do.

This year, you’ll see us attending and joining local events, supporting initiatives, and — of course — bringing along our iconic Women of Newport photograph 📸💛

We’re proud to be continuing our collaboration with the Homewards charity and the Fairy Project by Stephanie Roberts. Since starting our work with vulnerable women in 2024, we’ve grown not only as a community but also in our responsibility to offer the right kind of support. That’s why we’re investing in further training, including trauma awareness and suicide prevention — so we can better understand, respond and care.

We are currently developing several new projects, and while some are still taking shape, we can’t wait to share more with you later this year. Watch this space 👀

We’ll also be organising a few open meetings for anyone interested in getting involved in 2026. These will be opportunities to connect, share ideas, collaborate and maybe even inspire something completely new. Women of Newport has always grown through the ideas and energy of the women around us.

Some of you have asked whether we are planning to create a dedicated hub. At the moment, we are not planning one. We’re grateful to have strong collaborations with local organisations, and we truly value working together within existing community spaces.
